The São Paulo market registered an increase in the volume of hydrated ethanol offered in the last week, says the Center for Advanced Studies in Applied Economics (Cepea), from Esalq-USP. “In view of the advancement of sugarcane crushing from the 2026/27 crop in some mills and the start of activities in others, many sellers increased the availability of the fuel out of fear of more significant price drops,” the researchers say in a statement. In this context, price declines were daily in all producing regions of the state of São Paulo, according to data monitored by Cepea. Between April 6 and 10, the Cepea/Esalq Indicator for hydrated ethanol in the state of São Paulo was R$ 2.7873 per liter (net of ICMS and PIS/Cofins), a 3.5% drop from the previous period.
