Ragab Shehata, head of the Rice Division at the Chamber of Grain Industry, announced a slight decrease in wholesale white rice prices in Egypt, with reductions of 500 to 1000 pounds per ton, due to an abundant supply during the harvest season from mid-August to October. The rice planting area exceeded the limit, reaching 1.6 million acres across nine governorates, ensuring that local production meets national consumption needs without requiring imports.
