Paraguay: 10,000 fewer hectares of corn would be planted in this campaign in Chaco

According to the 550 producers surveyed by APACS in the three departments of the Western region, in this new 2024/2025 agricultural campaign, the area covered with corn would register a decrease of 10,020 hectares. When breaking it down by department, it can be seen that in Boquerón, in the 2023/24 harvest, 39,622 hectares of corn were planted and the intention for this new campaign is 32,280 hectares, that is, a drop of 18.53%, according to the data provided by APACS. Regarding the department of Presidente Hayes, the intention to plant the cereal in the current agricultural campaign is 9,022 hectares, which represents a decrease of 16.82%, taking into account that in the last harvest, 10,846 hectares had been planted. For the Alto Paraguay department, the intention to plant corn in the current agricultural campaign reaches 6,261 hectares, that is, a decrease of 12% compared to the previous harvest, when an area of 7,115 hectares was covered.
