Ukraine champignon market: production volumes are growing, prices are falling

In 2021, the production of champignons in Ukraine increased to 70 thousand tons, but at the same time, adjusted for inflation, the price of a mushroom for the period 2017-2020 was decreased by 20%. This was announced by the director of the information agency UMDIS Maksim Yenchenko during the International Exhibition and Conference "Days of Ukrainian mushroom growing". “Compared to 2017, in 2020 the average selling price of champignon increased by 12%, while inflation for 4 years was about 40%,” explains Maksim Enchenko. He also notes that mushroom prices are highly volatile.
