The United States has become the leading importer of frozen boneless meat, overtaking China, due to its demand for lean meat to be mixed with fatty surpluses in feedlots. There has been a 44% decrease in exports to China, making it the lowest volume exported since 2020, while Israel and Russia have emerged as notable new markets, importing over 500 tons and 2,000 tons of frozen deboned meat respectively in the first four months of the year. This shift indicates a significant reconfiguration in the international trade of Uruguayan beef.
