Cheshire: About 3k turkeys killed in farm fire

Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service confirmed that firefighters responded to reports of a blaze in Peach Lane, Nantwich, shortly after 4pm on Sunday 19th April. A turkey shed caught fire and was significantly damaged. The force confirmed that a number of birds died. A reduced number of fire crews remained at the scene. An investigation into the cause of the fire has been launched. Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service’s latest update from this afternoon reads: “Accessible areas of the barn have been cleared, and thermal imaging cameras are continuing to be used to monitor the temperature throughout the premises.
