The Brazilian Association of Animal Protein (ABPA) predicts that chicken meat production in Brazil in 2023 will range from 14.6 million to 14.75 million tons, a decrease from previous projections. Despite higher production costs, domestic chicken meat is expected to be more competitive. Exports are projected to increase by up to 8.5%, reaching around 5.2 million tons. The ABPA is cautious of avian flu and is implementing additional measures to prevent an outbreak in Brazil.
