Chile: Dehydrated plum shipments reach US$ 183 million as of September

The Chilean Association of Processors and Exporters of Dried Plums (Chileprunes) reported, based on data provided by Customs, that Chilean exports of dehydrated plums in the first nine months of the year totaled 64,887 metric tons (MT), equivalent to US$ 183 million, which have reached 76 countries. It is important to note that Chile has become the main exporter of dehydrated plums in the world, standing out in destination markets such as China, Poland, Mexico, the United States and the United Kingdom in terms of volume, but if returns are considered, the United States appears second, while Germany and Spain surpass the United Kingdom. More than a third of exports are destined for China (23,590 MT), corresponding to 27.2% and US$ 49.8 million in terms of amounts.
