Chile resumes strong poultry exports after reopening of Chinese market

With 34,354 tons exported and 1,544 zoosanitary certificates issued between January 2022 and March 2023, China is reaffirming itself as a key market for Chilean poultry products after the recent reopening following the closure due to avian influenza. Chile strongly resumed its exports of white meat to the People's Republic of China, with the shipment of more than 379 tons after the reopening of this market, which began this October. Poultry exports were suspended for 18 months due to the outbreak of highly pathogenic avian influenza (AI) that began in December 2022.
