Chile has successfully resumed poultry exports to China, marking a significant milestone after an 18-month suspension due to avian influenza. Despite the setback, Chile has exported 34,354 tons of poultry products to China from January 2022 to March 2023, reestablishing its position as a major supplier of white meat to the Chinese market. This achievement was celebrated with a visit to the El Paico plant of Ariztía by key officials to oversee the dispatch of the first container of poultry to China, signaling the recovery of export volumes to pre-outbreak levels. The reopening of the Chinese market to Chilean poultry is heralded as a move to bolster agricultural ties between China and Chile, with optimism for the future of poultry exports to China.
