Chilean salmon prices for the US and Brazil have decreased

Wholesale prices for fresh Atlantic salmon bound for Brazil have dropped to $9.45 per kilogram, a decrease of $0.25/kg from the previous week, ending a seven-week run of price increases. Despite this, the price is still higher than the previous five years, with an increase of $0.65/kg compared to the same period in 2023 and $0.36/kg higher than the same week in 2022. In the US, average wholesale prices for trim D Atlantic salmon fillets have slightly decreased to $6.28 per pound. Meanwhile, in China, the price of fresh whole Chilean Atlantic salmon over 6kg, including shipping and freight, has surged to $13.85/kg in week 15, up $0.79/kg from the previous week, though it remains below last year's price by over $2 per kg.
