China has lifted a ban on the import of pork meat and offal from Russia, which had been in place since 2008 due to African swine fever. The General Administration of Customs of the People's Republic of China announced that imports meeting the relevant requirements are permitted from January 24th. This could potentially increase Russia's total pork exports to 400-500 thousand tons per year, with Russian pork exports to China possibly reaching 150-200 thousand tons per year. Rusagro, Russia's third largest pork producer, could significantly benefit from this market opening.
