Cambodia's agriculture sector is a key contributor to the country's economy and the only industry to show positive growth in 2020. The government aims to increase agricultural exports to 12% of total exports by 2025 and has developed an Agricultural Strategic Development Plan (2019-2023) and an Agricultural Industry Master Plan 2030. The government is also working with China to modernize agriculture and attract foreign direct investment. The China-Cambodia Free Trade Agreement and the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement are expected to provide more opportunities for Cambodian agricultural products in the Chinese market. Cambodia has formulated policies to attract foreign investment, including establishing special economic zones and providing incentives for qualified investment projects.
