The Chinese blueberry industry is shrouded in mystery and misinformation, with much of the published information being inaccurate. In 2022, China produced 525,310 MT of blueberries on 77,641 hectares of land, and is the largest producing country in the world. Yunnan province is the most important region for blueberry production, using various production systems such as high tunnels and substrate, and the average consumption of blueberries per capita in China is only 0.26 kg.
