Recently, a truck loaded with sugarcane from Laos entered Mengman Port on the China-Laos border in Xishuangbanna Dai autonomous prefecture, Yunnan province, marking the beginning of the cross-border delivery of sugarcane between the two countries during the 2025-26 season, according to Yunnan.cn, a local news portal.The new season began on Oct 29 and is projected to last until the end of April, with over 930,000 tons of sugarcane expected to arrive in China for sugar extraction and production.
