A new direct train route has been launched from Chongqing, China, to Hairatan in Afghanistan, passing through Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan. This is the first direct connection between the two cities. The journey, which takes 12-15 days, is expected to reduce delivery time and logistics costs compared to road transportation. Since the initiation of international rail freight routes, more than 18,000 freight trains have been sent from Chongqing. This new route is set to strengthen economic cooperation between China, Afghanistan, and Central Asian countries.
