The National Food and Strategic Reserve Administration of China has introduced a comprehensive action plan for the period 2024-2035, aimed at boosting the grain industry. The plan encourages private investment and the establishment of development funds to enhance grain production, quality, and consumption. It also emphasizes the health benefits of cereal crops and promotes the consumption of cereal products. The government intends to improve breeding and planting of edible grains, establish leading enterprises for whole-grain food processing, and increase public awareness of cereals. Additionally, China has achieved a record grain production of 706.5 million tons in 2024, marking the first time it has exceeded 700 million tons.
