China loses position as main destination for Brazilian pork exports

The Philippines has taken the lead in Brazil's pork exports for the first time this year, with a total of 206 thousand tons purchased by the Asian country (+103.3%), reported the Brazilian Animal Protein Association (ABPA). “After years as the main destination for Brazilian pork exports, China has given way to the Philippines, at a time when we see the sector significantly expanding the capillarity of its exports,” said ABPA president Ricardo Santin in a statement. Abrafrigo reported that from January to October, Brazilian pork exports (fresh and processed) accumulated an increase of 10.7% in volume, reaching 1.121 billion tons, according to ABPA.
