Recently, the National Brucellosis Reference Laboratory of the China Animal Health and Veterinary Medicine Inspection Center and the National Veterinary Laboratory of Pakistan successfully completed the final round of technical visit exchanges, marking the successful conclusion of the three-year China-Pakistan World Organization for Animal Health (WOAH) laboratory pairing project. The project, supported by the World Organization for Animal Health, officially launched in 2022. As the mother laboratory in the pairing, the China Inspection Center adhered to precise docking, systematic empowerment, and long-term joint construction, fully leveraging its advantages in diagnostic technology standards, method systems, and laboratory management for brucellosis. It systematically shared China's comprehensive prevention and control strategies for animal brucellosis, inspection and testing systems, and laboratory quality management experiences, and provided technical training to Pakistan in diagnostic methods, vaccine quality control, and biosafety management. The successful implementation of the project has significantly promoted Pakistan's capabilities in brucellosis detection and comprehensive prevention and control, and has also accumulated valuable experience for China's further participation in global animal health governance and the deepening of technical exchanges and cooperation in veterinary laboratories. In the next step, under the guidance of the "Belt and Road" initiative and the WOAH cooperation mechanism, both parties will continue to deepen technical exchange and cooperation, promote the sharing and mutual learning of prevention and control achievements, and jointly enhance regional and global animal health security levels, making a positive contribution to the practice of the "One World, One Health" concept and the promotion of building a global community of health for all.
