The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Foreign Agricultural Service report forecasts a global increase in fresh table grape production for the 2023/24 season, reaching 28.1 million metric tons due to favorable conditions in India and China, despite weather-related losses in the EU, Turkey, and the U.S. However, global export volume is projected to decrease by 200,000 metric tons. China is expected to become the world's second-largest table grape exporter, while production in the EU and the U.S. is predicted to decrease due to weather conditions and hurricane impact, respectively. In contrast, South African production and exports are expected to increase. Peru, the current largest exporter, faces a slight production increase but a significant export volume decrease, while Chile's production and exports are also predicted to decrease.
