China has temporarily halted imports from two Brazilian and one Argentine slaughterhouses due to the detection of the coronavirus in the packaging of their frozen products. The decision follows several findings of the virus in refrigerated food packages, especially from Latin American countries, which have led to strict supervision and regulation by Chinese authorities. Imported frozen foods, especially meats and fish, have been the main source of virus outbreaks in China, with 15 new infections reported on Thursday, including six local infections.
