China announced on Wednesday a series of measures to ease trade tensions with the United States, which include the suspension of certain tariffs and restrictions as part of the agreements reached last week by the presidents of both countries, Xi Jinping and Donald Trump, during their meeting in South Korea. According to a statement from the Tariff Commission of the State Council (Chinese Executive), Beijing will suspend for one year the application of an "additional tariff" of 24% on products from the United States, a decision that will come into effect on November 10 at 13:01 local time (05:01 GMT). The measure, according to the text, aims to "implement the results and agreements reached in the economic and trade consultations between China and the United States."
