Following an anti-subsidy investigation, Chinese authorities will impose tariffs of 7.4-11.7% on dairy products from the European Union, according to the Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China. As stated in the released statement, this decision takes effect on February 13. The Ministry of Commerce document includes the names of European companies and the tariff rates at which their products will be taxed. The Chinese trade agency recalls that the preliminary decision regarding dairy products from the EU was made on December 22 of last year. "After the preliminary decision was made, the competent authorities continued the investigation of subsidies and their size, damage, and the scale of losses, as well as the causal relationships between subsidies and the inflicted harm," commented the Ministry of Commerce. "The investigation into this case has been completed, <…> a final decision has been made."
