Due to news that China will buy back Myanmar's green peas, some types of green peas in the domestic market have seen a price increase, according to market insiders. After an incident last month where over 10,000 tons of green peas were returned due to pesticide residues, China halted imports of Myanmar's green peas. After negotiations between officials from both countries, China has agreed to buy back the green peas. Because of this news that China will buy back green peas, the price of green peas (cash) in the domestic market has increased from K5,165/5,185 per viss to K5,500/5,520. Additionally, the FOB price for green peas has also increased from US$870/880 per ton to US$910/920.
