Chinese avocado importers visit Zimbabwe

From April 8 to 10, the Zimbabwe Trade Development Authority (ZIMTRADE) held a Zimbabwe-China avocado and macadamia importers delegation meeting in the southeastern port city of Chipinge. According to reports, the meeting included a seminar and an exchange meeting between Chinese importers and Zimbabwean producers. Chinese importers shared market demand and plans on how to make Zimbabwe avocado and macadamia production center in Africa. The delegation then visited local farms and companies to learn about Zimbabwe's planting practices and production capabilities. The General Administration of Customs of China issued an announcement on September 18 last year on the inspection and quarantine requirements for Zimbabwean avocados exported to China, requiring Zimbabwe to export fresh avocados to China.
