COAG Andalucía has decided to take a step forward and seek solutions abroad in the face of the uncontrolled expansion of the 'Vespa orientalis' (oriental hornet), due to the lack of effective measures by the competent administrations. Thus, the head of the beekeeping sector of COAG Andalucía, Antonio Vázquez, accompanied by another Andalusian beekeeper and an apicultural technician from the organization, travels today to Cyprus, a country where this species is native and where they already have experience in the fight against this hornet. "We are desperate. The oriental hornet is decimating our beehives and we cannot keep waiting for the administrations to react. We need urgent solutions to stop a situation that not only affects beekeepers, but also the environmental balance and the general public," denounced Vázquez before embarking on the journey.
