The Coordination of Farmers and Ranchers Organizations (COAG) demands that the Ministry of Consumption apply the EU Court of Justice ruling regarding the labeling control of products from Western Sahara in Spanish territory. In recent campaigns, COAG has found an increasing presence of cherry tomatoes in store shelves with "Origin Morocco" on their labels, when they come from agro-export companies with significant production in Western Sahara. The ruling was made public on October 4th, which requires that productions from Western Sahara, specifically fruits and vegetables, indicate this on their label. "Eight months after the ruling, no one has seen vegetables labeled as Western Sahara in the entire EU. There is an intentional concealment of the real origin of these products," Andrés Góngora indicated.
