Exports of these two products to the EU have seen positive growth thanks to high consumption demand and preferential tariffs from EVFTA. Specifically, coffee exported to the EU will have 93% of the tax line going to 0% as soon as the EVFTA comes into effect. This is a good opportunity for Vietnamese coffee when the EU is the largest coffee consuming market in the world, with import turnover from foreign countries about 10 billion USD/year, accounting for 66% of imports and about 30% of global consumption. In the first 11 months of 2021, the EU is Vietnam's largest coffee export market with a turnover of 939 million USD, accounting for nearly 35% of the total export turnover of this product.
