At the COFFEX Istanbul 2024 Fair, Serap Akçay, CEO of De la Pau Coffee, highlighted the growing coffee culture in Turkey, a nation currently consuming around 1-1.2 kg of coffee per person per month but aiming for a doubling of that figure by 2030, driven by Generation Z's modern identity association with coffee. Akçay emphasized the potential for Turkey to become a significant player in the global coffee industry, with countries like Switzerland, Germany, and Italy already profiting from coffee importations for export purposes. Echoing Akçay's optimistic outlook, Kurtuluş Orkun Tan, Production Manager at De la Pau Coffee, emphasized the importance of freshly ground and filtered coffee during the 'Coffee Roasters and Technological Development' panel at the same event.
