July 2021 brought 60 amendments to the food law, 11 of which were related to the national legal order. In Polish law, the change in the rates of fees for activities carried out as part of the commercial quality control of agri-food products should be considered significant. In the current legal state, this applies to border controls of the commercial quality of agri-food products and other controls of the commercial quality of agri-food products. The revised rates concern, inter alia, border control, which, for example, in relation to the control of 1 to 5 production batches of agri-food products is PLN 120.00. Another important amendment is the definition of detailed requirements to be met in order to obtain a permit to keep a herd book for farm animals. The entity applying for the permit is obliged, inter alia, to ensuring the keeping of the book in the form of a paper book or file or on an IT data carrier as well as securing and protecting the data contained in the book.
