Community wine and must production increases for 2025/26 due to the rise in Italy and Germany

The production of wine and must in the European Union could reach 150 million hectoliters in the current 2025/26 campaign, according to data published by the European Commission, based on figures reported by the Member States. This volume would represent an increase of 4.2% compared to the previous campaign (143.9 million hectoliters). Italy and Germany would be the main contributors to this increase. Spanish production, which could stand at 34.9 million hectoliters, would drop by 5.4% compared to last year. The figure recorded by Brussels for Spain, which corresponds to the first estimate of the Ministry of Agriculture, shows a wine production of less than 30 million hectoliters (compared to 31 million in the 2024/25 campaign) and 5.5 million hectoliters of must (5.8 million in the previous campaign).
