A meeting led by the vice president of Senasa, Rodolfo Acerbi, in Puerto Madryn, Chubut, brought together national and regional authorities, provinces, municipalities, and producers to strengthen the approach to sheep diseases in the Patagonian region. The meeting highlighted the strengths of the work already done and discussed strategies to update regulations and combat ectoparasitosis. A commitment was made to implement a plan against ectoparasitosis, with resources and roles for each participant in the sheep production chain. The National Sheep Health Program was also evaluated, with a focus on health intervention strategies for ectoparasitosis. The meeting concluded with a commitment to expand ectoparasite-free areas in the Patagonian region. The undersecretaries and directors of various provinces and institutions, including Chubut, Santa Cruz, Río Negro, Neuquén, and Buenos Aires party of patagones, attended the meeting.
