EU: In 2025, soybeans from deforested land cannot be imported, but chickens that have eaten soybeans from deforested land can be imported

The European Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) aims to ban, from 1 January 2025, the import of coffee, cocoa, rubber, palm oil, beef, wood and soya that have contributed to deforestation. The French animal feed association (SNIA) complains that the conditions for implementing the regulation are still unclear, in particular on the means of certifying imported soya that does not cause deforestation, and the European Commission has not yet published the details of implementation with three months to go before the regulation is applied.
