Corn imports to Thailand fell by 13 percent

Thailand's corn imports reached 200,000 tons in the first five months of MY 2022/23, down 13% year-over-year, according to a USDA report. Myanmar supplied 61% of imports, followed by India (24%) and Cambodia (14%). The USDA is forecasting that imports from Myanmar will recover once cross-border trade returns to normal after trade was restricted due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Meanwhile, corn production in Thailand in 2022/23 MY will remain unchanged at 5.2 million tons.
