According to the weekly analysis released by the Mato Grosso Institute of Agricultural Economics (Imea) this Monday (18), the cost of cotton for the 2025/26 crop was projected at R$ 10,706.79 per hectare, according to the Agricultural Production Costs of Mato Grosso (CPA-MT) project. According to Imea, "the value represents an increase of 0.56% compared to June 2025, as a result of the monthly increase in expenses for seeds, by 1.56%, and for pesticides, by 0.70%". The entity added that, with this increase, "the Effective Operating Cost (COE) and the Total Operating Cost (COT) were projected at R$ 15,371.73 per hectare and R$ 16,348.84 per hectare, with increases of 0.46% and 0.43%, respectively". The survey also highlighted that the increase in the Selic rate impacted the calculations.
