The U.S. Grains Council (USGC) and the Texas Department of Agriculture recently visited Spain to discuss the potential of U.S. sorghum and distiller’s dried grains with solubles (DDGS) exports with Spanish grain importers and compound feed producers. The team's discussions with these stakeholders aim to ensure that U.S. sorghum remains a consideration in Spain's marketing plans, given the country's large pork production and significant compound feed production. The mission was successful in generating interest and securing requests for price and quality specifications from Spanish importers. Additionally, the timely visit came after the U.S. and EU agreed to remove a 25% duty on U.S. corn imports, opening up opportunities for U.S. corn exports to Spain and the EU.
