The economic and trade cooperation between Vietnam and China, despite the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, has continued to grow in 2022 with a total import-export turnover of 175.6 billion USD. However, the trade turnover between Vietnam and Yunnan province, a key trade gateway, was only 3.2 billion USD, which is a small proportion of the total trade turnover between the two countries. To enhance this cooperation, the Trade Promotion Department of Vietnam proposed the implementation of a Memorandum of Understanding and organizing trade promotion activities. The department also suggested that Yunnan provide favorable conditions for Vietnamese enterprises to promote agricultural and aquatic products to the Chinese market.
