Croatia experienced a decline in its production of soft and hard wheat by 14.2% in 2023, resulting in 813,000 tonnes, as reported by the national statistical office. There was also a decrease in winter and spring barley production by 10.1%, amounting to 286,000 tonnes. Sunflower production remained stable at 153,000 tonnes. On a positive note, maize production saw a significant increase of 20.2%, reaching 1.974 million tonnes. However, sugar beet and rapeseed production experienced a decline by 12.6% and 25.9% respectively.
