CTA participates in the European Ultfarms project to improve the aquaculture value chain in offshore wind farms

The Ultfarms European project has started its activities with the aim of improving the low trophic level aquaculture production chain, specifically algae and molluscs suitable for consumption, in offshore wind farms. Technological Corporation of Andalusia (CTA) is the only Spanish partner of this consortium led by the Deltares Institute of the Netherlands and which has 25 members from 9 countries. Ultfarms (circUlar Low Trophic or Offshore Aquaculture in wind farms and Restoration of Marine Space), an initiative financed with close to 9.6 million euros by the European Union's Horizon Europe program, will be developed over 42 months in six pilot plants located in parks wind farms in the North Sea and the Baltic Sea, specifically in Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany and Denmark.
