Cucumber Prices in Ukraine Plummet: How Much the Vegetable Now Costs

In Ukraine, greenhouse cucumbers continue to rapidly become cheaper. The latest price reduction is explained by an increase in vegetable supply from summer greenhouses. EastFruit project analysts noted that by the end of the current week, cucumbers are being sold in the range of 25-48 UAH/kg ($0.60-1.16/kg), which is on average 15% cheaper than at the end of the previous work week. According to producers, the main reason for the price drop is the growing supply of cucumbers from summer greenhouses located in the southern region, which are being sold at an average of 18 UAH/kg ($0.43/kg). It is worth noting that today's wholesale prices for cucumbers in Ukraine are already on average 17% lower than a year ago. At the same time, further price reduction is not excluded, as supply will continue to increase while sales rates are declining. At Silpo, vegetable prices start from 57.70 UAH/kg.
