The Regional Management of Natural Resources and Environmental Management of the Regional Government of Cusco reported that it aims to recover more than 3000 degraded hectares in the district of Ocongate. To this end, it has begun work preparing seedbeds for the production of seedlings in eight of the eleven nurseries that will be installed in the communities of this jurisdiction.
"Together with our work team, we have started opening seedbeds for the production of seedlings of native species such as the q’euña, chachacomo, and q’olle," the entity detailed.
With an approximate investment of S/12 million, complementary works such as the construction of infiltration ditches, ravine management, construction of slow-forming terraces, as well as awareness and training actions directed at the local population and authorities, on environmental management and sustainability, will also be carried out.
