In October 2021, Argentine dairy exports saw a decrease of 15.9% in volume and 5.2% in value compared to the same month in the previous year, according to the Observatory of the Argentine Dairy Chain (OCLA). Despite this, the first 10 months of the year showed a positive trend with over 317,000 tons of dairy products exported, generating over $1,055 million in revenue, which is a 5% increase in volume and 14.5% increase in foreign exchange earnings compared to the same period in 2020. Powdered milk was the dominant product, accounting for 46.6% of exports. The average price of total exports from January to October 2021 was 9% higher in dollars and 49.5% higher in pesos compared to the same period in 2020, and there is expected to be a rebound in sales for November and December, potentially closing the year with overall growth for the dairy sector.
