Dak Lak province in Vietnam plans to apply for 'Coffee Planting and Processing Knowledge' UNESCO heritage status.

The news was disclosed at the "Global Coffee Industry Value Chain" seminar held at the World Coffee Museum on December 6. Representatives at the meeting unanimously agreed that coffee is the "living heritage" of Dak Lak province and even the entire Tay Nguyen region, embodying generations of local wisdom, encompassing the entire chain from planting, nurturing, processing, to the culture of tasting. Dak Lak province is the core area for Vietnamese Robusta coffee, with Buon Ma Thuot city already holding an important position in the global coffee map. This declaration aims to systematically promote the local knowledge system, enhance the brand value and international influence of Vietnamese coffee, and drive the sustainable development of the industry. "Dak Lak coffee planting and processing knowledge" was listed in the National Intangible Cultural Heritage List of Vietnam in March 2025.
