In the second quarter of 2024, Denmark experienced a significant increase in its pig-related activities, with live pig exports rising by 16% to 4.3 million from the previous year, and piglet exports specifically seeing a 10.6% rise to 4.2 million. The majority of these piglets are exported to Germany and Poland for fattening and slaughter. Overall pig production also increased by 10.6%, alongside cattle and poultry, while egg production saw an 8.5% increase. However, milk production, except for organic milk, remained stable, with organic milk production showing a decrease of 8.7%.
