East Azarbaijan Province in Iran has exported over 20,000 tons of date-related products, according to Akbar Fathi, the head of the province's Agricultural Jihad Organization. The dates are imported from other parts of Iran and then processed into export products. Russia is the primary importer, followed by Turkey, Armenia, Georgia, and European countries. There are currently 15 date processing factories in the province.
