Deer depredation has become a major concern for cattle producers in some parts of Minnesota, leading the state's Cattlemen's Association to prioritize the issue for the 2024 legislative session. The president of the association, Jake Thompson, has emphasized the extensive damage caused by deer to stored feedstuffs, as well as the risk of disease transmission to cattle due to deer feces and urine contaminating feed. The association is considering proposing a bill to address the problem.
