Farmers in Nigeria have faced challenges such as flooding, moderate drought, diseases, and high labor and input costs, but have still managed to record good harvests, especially in Kebbi State where rice farmers reported bumper harvests despite flooding, leading to falling rice prices. However, the high cost of inputs like fertilizer and transportation, as well as power outages in Bauchi and other northern states, have offset the joy of the high yield harvests and kept rice prices from further dropping.
