A recent inspection by the National Agricultural Products Quality Management Service in Korea from January 18th to February 10th uncovered widespread fraud in the sale of imported agricultural products. The investigation revealed that several restaurants, distributors, and meat shops had sold products with falsified country of origin labels, including rice, onions, sesame seeds, jujubes, and beef, some of which were mislabeled as domestic products. The total amount of fraudulently sold products reaches over 9.2 tons and 233.26kg of meat gifts sets. The agency intends to impose fines on 234 establishments that failed to properly label the country of origin.
