With the aim of strengthening good environmental practices and promoting sustainable cocoa production in the Valley of the Rivers Apurímac, Ene, and Mantaro (Vraem), the National Commission for Development and Life without Drugs (Devida) has begun the implementation of 16 temporary solid waste collection modules in strategic intervention areas. The initiative seeks to promote the proper management of inorganic waste and containers used in agricultural activities, contributing to the prevention of soil and water source contamination in cocoa-producing areas. The modules will have infrastructure adapted for the safe temporary storage of agricultural waste, mainly empty agro-input containers.
