Peru has established itself in recent years as the world's second-largest exporter of avocados, driven by increasing international demand and the efficiency of its logistics chain. In the 2025 campaign, national exports of this product have reached 690,000 metric tons, representing a 37% increase over the previous year, according to data from the Association of Producers and Exporters of Hass Avocados of Peru (ProHass). A key player in this sustained growth has been the Port of Callao, the main exit point for Peruvian agro-exports. In 2024 alone, 32,400 TEUs (20-foot containers) of avocados were moved through this port infrastructure, of which 50% was shipped from the South Pier Terminal, operated by DP World Callao.
