On October 12, the price of Robusta and Arabica coffee beans for November delivery fell significantly on the London and New York exchanges, with Robusta dropping to $4,826 per ton and Arabica to $5,560 per ton. Despite the record global green coffee bean exports of 110 million bags in the first 11 months of the 2023-2024 crop year, as reported by the International Coffee Organization (ICO), and an increase in Robusta coffee exports from Brazil, India, and Indonesia, both coffee types experienced a decline in all delivery periods. Vietnam, the world's largest coffee producer and exporter, saw a decrease in export volume by 12.1% year-on-year, while Vietnamese Robusta coffee continues to face high prices due to its unique flavor profile, making it difficult for other sources to replace it in the market.
